HOW TO ENCOURAGE FURTHER DISCUSSIONS

2 PARAGRAPHS 4 LIBERTY: 456

Recently I read a short work about how to encourage discussions instead of cutting them off or letting them die. It listed some words and some phrases that would help, and I wanted to share them with you. So here are some words that can be used to further many discussions:

  • Intrigued: I am intrigued to hear your thoughts.
  • Fascinated: I am fascinated about the evolution of language.
  • Enlightening: I have never heard that idea before, but it is enlightening.
  • Captivates: Please tell me more, this subject captivates me.
  • Eager: I am eager to hear more of your thoughts.

And here are some phrases that, obviously, can be adapted to whatever the topic that is being discussed that I also think will help:

  • What led you to that conclusion?
  • Can you elaborate on that?
  • How did you come across that information?
  • What are your thoughts on the implications of this?
  • Oh, I’d be interested in supporting facts and how they might be tested.
  • What are some related topics we should also consider?

Maybe not earthshaking revelations, but I think they can almost always be useful. So have on!

(Question for the week: What do you call a pretty young lady tumbling down a hill? Answer: A Roll Model.)

In addition, my new book with the same title as my radio show is now available at Amazon.com., as is my wife Grace’s and my new novel centered about School Choice entitled 2030 KIDS: We are the Rising Heroes of the Planet. Please read and discuss them with your friends, and send in a review.
