THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO PERSIST!

2 PARAGRAPHS 4 LIBERTY: 445

Recently I was talking to the director of the music department at a local university and asking if their school would be interested in staging either or both of my musicals, which are “Americans All” and “Convention: The Birth of America.” I also said that I am not really interested in making money off these works, so I would consider delegating the royalties to their school if they would attempt to convince other institutions to stage them as well. But the answer was No, they could not accept my offer. Why? Because their students are not interested in glamorizing the Founders of our Country in any fashion. How completely sad. But this cannot be allowed to persist!

How did we get into this situation? My view is that it has resulted both from our public educational system and from social media. But, I hope you agree with me, that is a misguided result! Yes, our Founders had their faults and, yes, some of them owned slaves. But what our country’s Founders put together was brilliant and has worked well over all these years for We the People.

So what can be done about this situation? It is up to each one of us to attempt to lower the decibel level of the conversations and then to underscore how well our system of government with its critically important Separation of Powers into our three branches of government has been effective in underscoring the Rule of Law, for keeping our government smaller and its intrusions into our lives at bay. Really no other system of government in the history of the world has been as effective as ours, so it should be appreciated! If you agree please help me spread the word to our present-day students.
