Follow-up on “IT’S TIME FOR ME TO VENT…”

Jim, I could not agree with you more. I pretty much said the same thing in my book, The Slammer When I went into a maximum security prison to work (after I retired), I found the problem: incurable political corruption that is so deep that most directors of prisons see a “money grab”. The prison (where I worked) was rancid with corruption. I tried to expose it, but the internal prison sheriff (with whom I worked) would come into my office and would complain that overcoming the issues was just impossible. On another note, I went to bat with the parole board to allow two cell block roommates to go through the release process, They were given life sentences for murder when they were 15. They were then in their early sixties, fading from life with the passing of each year. After much conversation, they decided not to go forward anymore because they feared the outside world and what it would take to survive. Very disturbing! They were gang members as youths, attached to a gang as the families they lost. So Jim, I am with you all the way,
