GET THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF THE ECONOMY!
2 PARAGRAPHS 4 LIBERTY
Thomas Sowell once said that “It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” Yet that is exactly what our country has been doing ever since the beginning of the COVID Virus. And what are we receiving for having done so? Inflation and ever-so-higher government deficits, which will severely punish our children and grandchildren, and a substantial loss of our liberties! Shame on each one of us! So what is the answer? Get government out of the economy! As Milton Friedman put it, “If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in five years there’d be a shortage of sand.”
There is another old and sophisticated saying that is on point: “In politics, reality is irrelevant. It is only the voters’ perception of reality that counts.” But now that we all are seeing gasoline prices jump up enormously, tangible bottlenecks in the global supply chain, and consumer prices rise in this past September a full 5.4 percent from September of 2020, maybe voters will now realize that government is causing these harms. Trusting presidents, governors and mayors to decide what businesses must be shut down and for how long, and who in the private sector must receive vaccinations and by when transparently is not working. And that is not to mention so many jobs being unfilled because governments have been passing out free money. No, trust individuals who pay a price for bad economic decisions to make good ones – for our economy, and for us all! And help us spread the word and vote accordingly!
